I’ve taken the plunge and have gone to the gym each day this week. I’m very excited about this. I’ve even done two spin classes. Yes, my butt is sore, but it’s worth it.
I’ve also made an account on Spark People. There are 4 groups on there for derby girls. I couldn’t believe there were any, but 4 is fantastic! I have been logging in what I’ve been eating, and my exercise and everything. It’s been a little frustrating trying to balance protein, calories, carbs and fat but I’m working on it. I have my own opinions about certain foods that just aren’t changing anytime soon. If that means I “exceed” my daily limit in something, then so be it.
I’m not going to beat myself up over anything. I’ll still have a beer at night, I’m not following any weird diet trend, I’m just trying to keep myself healthy. Plus derby is a huge motivator. I don’t want to be the weak link because I view nachos as a food group. I want to bout in 2011 and by god I don’t want to be slower than a turtle stuck in syrup.
So I’ll keep you all posted on the progress. Hold me accountable!
